Less generic commentary. More context about what you own.
Ask why a position matters to your allocation, what is concentrated, or which holdings have upcoming earnings. Hootie uses your portfolio context to help explain the picture—not to promise the next winning trade.

A good fit if
You want plain-language explanations of your holdings, allocation and portfolio risks, and are willing to verify AI output.
Not designed for
You want guaranteed stock picks, an autonomous investment manager, or personalized financial or tax advice.
The workflow
Better context starts with better inputs.
Portfolio-aware does not mean infallible. Use the explanation as the start of a review, not the final decision.
Make the holdings representative
Add or import the positions you want to understand. Brokerage connections are optional. Missing accounts or stale quantities can distort the portfolio context behind an answer.
Ask a specific portfolio question
Hootie receives holdings, allocations and market context to inform its responses. Ask about position weights, sector concentration or upcoming earnings rather than relying on generic stock tips.
Check the answer against the evidence
Compare the explanation with holdings and allocation views, broker records and current issuer information. Verify facts, dates and calculations before considering any change.
Three Pro tools. Three ways to review.
Choose a conversation when you have a question, an alert when something deserves attention, or a brief when you want an overview.
| Tool | Use it when | What it is not |
|---|---|---|
| Hootie | You want to ask a question about your holdings and explore follow-ups in plain English. | An adviser, a trade guarantee, or the marketing site's FAQ widget. |
| Smart Insights | You want dashboard alerts about matters such as concentration, earnings or dividend changes. | A complete risk audit or a guarantee that every issue will be flagged. |
| Daily Portfolio Brief | You want a holdings-aware summary of market context, portfolio movers and upcoming events. | A complete or always-current account of everything affecting your investments. |

Ask for an explanation you can check.
These are example prompts, not sample AI results. They illustrate questions to investigate in the app.
“Which holdings make up my largest weights?”
Use the answer to investigate concentration. Compare the position weights with your allocation view and consider whether missing accounts would change the picture.
“How is my portfolio spread across sectors?”
Ask for context on your exposure, then check classifications and percentages. An explanation does not determine the right allocation for your circumstances.
“Which of my holdings have upcoming earnings?”
Use the response as a research checklist. Verify report dates against current company information; calendars can change and market data may be delayed.
Start small. Add tools when you need them.

Know what the AI uses—and where it can fall short.
- Hootie receives holdings, allocations and market context. Relevant data is processed by AI providers to support these features.
- AI output may be wrong, incomplete or outdated. A confident explanation is not proof; verify factual claims, calculations and dates independently.
- The analysis depends on the information available. Missing holdings, incorrect cost basis and delayed data can affect the result.
- AI tools are optional research aids, not financial, investment or tax advice. They do not guarantee returns or replace a qualified professional.
You can use the core tracker without AI, and you do not need a connected brokerage to enter or import holdings. If you choose brokerage connections, relevant data is also processed by connection providers such as SnapTrade or Plaid. Review the policy before deciding which optional features to use. Read the Privacy Policy.
Before you get started
How is Hootie different from a generic AI chatbot?
In-app Hootie uses your holdings, allocations and market context to inform answers about your portfolio. That context makes the question more specific; it does not eliminate AI errors or make an answer suitable advice.
Is the chat widget on this website Hootie?
The marketing-site FAQ widget helps with questions about SavvyStocks. It is not the in-app Pro Hootie experience and should not be treated as analysis of your holdings.
Do I need to connect my brokerage to use portfolio-aware AI?
No. You can enter holdings manually or import CSV/Excel files. Hootie is a Pro feature; brokerage connection is a separate, optional way to maintain your portfolio data. Keep manually maintained data current.
Can I rely on AI to decide what to buy or sell?
No. Treat its output as a starting point for research. Verify claims using current source information and your records. SavvyStocks does not provide financial or tax advice, and its AI does not guarantee investment outcomes.
